Hello Pretty City zine
From 2014 through 2015, I edited and published a series of 11 monthly zines featuring images taken by residents of upstate New York’s Capital Region. Each zine consisted of eight images taken by one person, which I curated by selecting the images either from their print photo collections or from their Instagram accounts. Ranging from daily observations to portraits of people named Laura to antique postcards of Albany at night, each issue was intended as a visual report on how local residents depicted their lives. Copies of the zine were distributed for free at a locally owned gift shop and to a small group of snail mail subscribers. I created this zine series to expand the perception of life in an underappreciated small city.
